How to let Pilates be invasive in all you do!
Article by Karen Toth.
Before starting Pilates I would exercise with vim and vigor, enjoying every moment of it. I still enjoy my workouts doing Pilates, but I am now more aware of my form.
Ever have one of those days that you felt like your shoulders were up around your ears?
Inhale and gently lift your shoulders to your ears and using the muscles at the base of your shoulder blades, exhale and slowly start to glide the shoulders down toward your feet. As you become aware of the feeling and start to take control of your shoulders you will find how invasive, in a positive way Pilates can be in your life.
When life sets you up with too much and your breathing becomes shallow, think of your Breathing exercises, take a deep breath in through your nose filling your ribcage as if it were an umbrella. Exhale through you mouth closing that umbrella. Repeat 5-10 times until your breathing feels more natural.
Sitting too long and your back getting sore?
Inhale to prepare, exhale drop your belly button toward the chair. Inhale and come back to sitting. Do exercise 8-10 times, about 4 times per day.
In these ways you can let Pilates become invasive in your everyday moments.
Have a great day!!
